The Cocheco Valley Humane Society ceremoniously broke ground on June 21 for its long-awaited new facility.

Kennebunk Savings announced that it will be partnering with Federal Savings and the Strafford Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) to provide the financing needed to build a brand-new, 11,000 square foot facility for the Cocheco Valley Humane Society (CVHS) on County Farm Road in Dover, New Hampshire.

Kennebunk Savings and Federal Savings have a long history of support for the Cocheco Valley Humane Society, including a $50,000 donation from each bank to kick off the CVHS “Bring Us Home” capital campaign, launched in 2015 to raise funds for the construction of a brand-new facility.

The new shelter will be one of, if not the biggest milestone in the history of the Cocheco Valley Humane Society and will provide a stable base of operations they have desperately needed for decades, including space for training and recovery and a pantry for those who struggle to feed their pets.

More information on this project can be obtained by contacting the Cocheco Valley Humane Society.
