Today we’re spotlighting our Information Technology (IT) and Business Applications & Reporting (BAR) teams! As you can imagine, their days are never dull. In addition to keeping our many systems running smoothly across the company, they’re also troubleshooting each employee’s individual tech woes–an aspect of the job that has been complicated by COVID-19. With so many staff members working from home, our experts now have to account for a handful of different internet service providers across two states. “Everybody loves ISPs, right?” jokes Adam Mumm, SVP, Chief Information Officer. But they are inspired by the challenges, not threatened by them–not surprising for a group with 240 years of cumulative experience in the field. “The whole bank has really stepped up during the pandemic,” Mumm says. “It was really amazing to see everyone come together and complete this monumental effort — and now, we have a work from home program that we didn’t have at all before. It has been great for many of our employees.” Everyone on the IT/BAR team is motivated by a sincere desire to help. “We may not have the answer right away, but we’re always quick to jump in,” Mumm adds. “And we are easily bribed by food — that might be a global IT thing.”
