DOVER, NH – Kennebunk Savings once again participated in #NHBanksGiveBack, a month-long celebration created by the NH Bankers Association to highlight the collective impact of the banking industry in the Granite State. Each year, Kennebunk Savings supports local nonprofits in Southern Maine and Seacoast New Hampshire through donations and volunteering as part of the bank’s Community Promise program.

The bank donated a total of $36,300 and logged 194.5 volunteer hours for NH-based nonprofit organizations in October. They also held a pet food and supply drive to benefit the Pope Memorial Humane Society – Cocheco Valley in Dover, and the NHSPCA in Stratham, collecting well over $500 worth of items for pets in need.

“We believe that when our communities thrive, we all thrive,” said Liz Torrance, Social Responsibility Manager at Kennebunk Savings. “Giving back is a huge part of our culture and identity as an organization. We love the NH Banks Give Back movement because it reflects the spirit of community banking — we are all in this together.”

“Banks in New Hampshire are united in their consistent and continued support of our communities through hours of volunteerism and financial support to local non-profit and civic organizations. We are so proud of their work. This one month of giving by New Hampshire’s banking industry represents and celebrates the longstanding practice by our members to regularly give back to their communities,” said Kristy Merrill, President of NH Bankers.
