Keeping your accounts secure is one of our highest priorities. As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting our customers from evolving cybersecurity threats, we are making an important update to how Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) works for our Online Banking and Mobile App platforms.

Effective October 15, 2026, we will retire email verification codes as an option for receiving MFA login codes. This change is a proactive step we are taking to strengthen account security and better protect your financial information from increasingly sophisticated phishing attacks.

What MFA options will be available?
You can continue to receive MFA codes through:

  • SMS text messages
  • Phone calls

We will also be expanding our MFA options for our Mobile App users by offering the use of third-party authenticator applications.  There are a variety of authenticator apps which will be supported with this change, including:

  • Duo Mobile
  • Microsoft Authenticator

What do I need to do?
Before October 15, 2026, please make sure you have an alternative MFA method registered, such as a phone number for text messages or phone calls, or an authenticator app. For more information about how to set up Microsoft’s Authenticator app.

How to confirm I have a good phone number registered for SMS or phone call?

  • Kennebunk Savings Mobile App: Go to Settings/Security and click on “View details” under SMS and Phone and it will show you the phone numbers we have on file. Click “Contact Settings” to update the numbers we have on file, if necessary.
  • Kennebunk Savings Online Banking via Desktop: Go to Preferences/Profile/Settings/Security and click on View details” to see what you have selected. To update a phone number, click the “Contact Settings” link.

Important Note About Password Resets
This change only affects how you receive MFA codes during login. Password reset links and communications can still be sent to your email address.

We appreciate your partnership as we continue to enhance security and provide a safe digital banking experience for our customers.
