Kennebunk Savings is celebrating their 150th anniversary this year, but one of their branches is also hitting a significant milestone of its own. The North Berwick branch turns 50 this month.

Located on Main St., the bank’s North Berwick location opened in 1971 at the start of the community bank’s expansion after 100 years in Kennebunk, Maine.

“The North Berwick community is very important to us because it’s one of the very first branches we opened,” said Bradford C. Paige, the Bank’s President and CEO. “It was a key decision at the time that has since evolved into the Bank’s current footprint of 17 branches in York County, Maine and seacoast New Hampshire.  Our North Berwick opening signaled the start of the widening of our Kennebunk Savings community.”

The Bank has commemorated their sesquicentennial with a traveling road show of sorts, with each of their branches celebrating for a week at a time with prizes, raffles, and more. “We couldn’t plan one big party, so we decided to stretch it out as long as possible,” Paige explained. “A small, mobile party. It’s been a lot of fun so far, and it’s going to be extra special to celebrate in North Berwick.”
