Scammers are becoming pretty tech savvy. They know how to make it look like a communication is coming from the bank:
- A call may come up on your caller ID as Kennebunk Savings and the caller may say they work for the bank
- A text may say it’s from Kennebunk Savings
- An email could look like @kennebunksavings.com
If you receive one of these messages and are suspicious, do not respond!
What you need to know:
We will call you if we suspect fraudulent activity on your account and we will ask you to come to a branch to close the account and open a new one if fraud is confirmed.
We will not ask you for a payment to access or restore a service, such as QuickBooks.
We will not call you to ask for your full social security number, login credentials, PIN number, or one-time passcode – EVER!
If you are ever in doubt, hang up the phone and call our Customer Care team at 800-339-6573! Fraudsters may be able to spoof our number when making a call, but they CAN’T answer calls YOU make to US!
