The study of Adverse Childhood Experiences, or ACEs, is at the forefront of current research on trauma, toxic stress and their impact on disease and disorder later in life. The goal of the Pinetree Institute’s newly created Master Trainer Series is to carry the message of ACEs and the effect of toxic stress to every sector of the community, adapting the approach we take to education, health services, law enforcement, counseling, rehabilitation and social work.

Kennebunk Savings announces a new way to assist customers facing financial hardship. The Bank has partnered with GreenPath Financial Wellness, a national nonprofit, to offer free phone-based financial counseling and advice to Kennebunk Savings’ customers. GreenPath’s counselors will assess an individual’s entire financial picture and identify options that can relieve stress and make it easier to bounce back from financial hardship.

For each of the last 26 years, supporting the community for Kennebunk Savings has typically meant sponsoring over 300 nonprofit events and organizing hundreds of bank employees who don their green T-shirts to volunteer at them. However, as the reality of the pandemic set in, the bank quickly realized that the needs of the community were going to shift drastically.

26,590 pounds.  $76,000 dollars. That’s how much food and money was collected at Gather’s 6th Annual Fill the Hall food drive, held as always at the historic Music Hall in downtown Portsmouth. This year’s food drive had some creative restrictions such as “curbside” donation drop off and social distancing among volunteer staff, but the numbers speak for themselves...
