Account Opening Checklist
How to open your personal banking account
We’re excited to welcome you to the neighborhood. You can open your account online or stop by and see us in person at one of our branches. Both require you to have certain documents ready. Here’s what you’ll need:
- A current and valid Government-issued photo ID. If you’re unsure if your ID qualifies, please call Customer Care at 1-800-339-6573.
- Your Social Security number. You don’t need your card. Just your number.
- Proof of residency or employment in one of our market areas: York County in Maine or Rockingham or Strafford Counties in New Hampshire. You can use your ID or substitute a paystub, lease, mortgage agreement, or vehicle registration as verification.

Are you setting up an account for a special circumstance, like a trust, real estate fund, conservatorship, guardianship or Social Security Rep payee? These accounts may carry different requirements. Give us a call ahead of time so we can walk you through the process.
