KENNEBUNK, MAINE – The Kennebunk Savings Bank Foundation’s Huntington Common Charitable Fund (HCCF) seeks to enrich the lives of older adults living in York County, ME, funding a wide variety of project proposals from local nonprofits. Kennebunk Savings encourages organizations with programs or initiatives that meet this criteria to apply, with the Q4 deadline for grant applications set for December 31st, 2025.

“As the oldest median age state in the nation with many outlying and rural communities, there is no shortage of need when it comes to supporting our older adult neighbors in York County”, said Liz Torrance, the Bank’s Social Responsibility Director.  “It’s important to our team of HCCF advisors to ensure that these funds are distributed effectively to bolster the work our nonprofit partners are doing to assist the aging population in our region.”

Recent grants from the HCCF include funding kitchen renovations at the Wells Ogunquit Senior Center to support their many meal-based programs, as well as supporting the onsite food pantry and enrichment activities for residents at Volunteers of America Northern New England’s Paul Hazelton House in Saco, which offers affordable housing for older adults in the area.

Another grant from the HCCF is helping Cross Cultural Community Services (CCCS) expand their work into York County. The nonprofit works to promote cultural understanding, access to resources, and to reduce isolation and invisibility in marginalized communities including older adults. CCCS is partnering with the Maine Council on Aging and the Southern Maine Agency on aging to implement their outreach in York County in 2026.

Local nonprofits proposing programs meeting the HCCF’s criteria can apply for grants on the bank’s website. Final decisions are made and grants are issued on a quarterly basis – the next deadline for proposals is December 31st, 2025.
