What does a Loan Servicing Specialist – Loan Processor do?

Under the direct guidance of the Personal Lines Processing Team Leader, the position will provide administrative support for the insurance agency and may also provide back-up support to the Personal Lines Agents with service requests.

Essential Functions

Administrative Support

  • Answers phone calls for the agency and transfers them to appropriate parties
  • Responsible for opening/sorting agency mail and sending to agents for review or response
  • Processes client payments for agents

Agency Account Maintenance 

  • Processes routine policy changes (endorsements)
  • Responds to billing inquiries automotive ID card requests and other transactional items for agents
  • Mails carrier requested questionnaires to clients, sets up suspense’s and ensures completed questionnaires are returned to the carriers in a timely fashion
  • Enters and follows-up on non-pay cancelations and communicates to the applicable agent
  • Assists with billing of renewal policies and policy changes

Provides Claims Assistance to Agents

  • Enters claim acknowledgements, statuses and payment information

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understands, supports and adheres to applicable organizational policies/procedures and state/federal regulations
  • Consistently emphasizes the importance of teamwork in the department and company at large
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of company news and information
  • Responsible for completing required training and policy review
  • May serve on various committees
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks and duties
  • Assists clients on a one-on-one basis

Certifications/Licenses Required

  • Property & Casualty License – desired but no required

  • Learn agency management system and become proficient in navigating carrier websites
  • Displays high level of regard for trust and confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Displays strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Displays strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task to meet established deadlines
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effectively uses analytical skills to solve technical, as well as, non-technical problems
  • Prior knowledge of regulations within the financial services industry is preferred
  • Ability to adapt to change

  • High school or General Education Diploma

Working Conditions/Minimum Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work from home (WFH) 20-40% of the time
  • Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Lifting and moving of moderately heavy objects on occasion
  • Normally seated for extended periods of time
