Every Vote Counts!
KENNEBUNK – Customers of Kennebunk Savings Bank recently began receiving the Bank’s annual Community Investment Ballot. This year Kennebunk Savings will provide over $130,000 to area nonprofits and charitable organizations based solely on customers’ votes through this program, a favorite of many customers. Each spring for more than ten years, Kennebunk Savings’ customers have received a ballot which lists nearly 100 area nonprofit and charitable organizations. The returned ballots are tabulated and unsolicited grant awards are made based on the number of votes each organization receives.
Last year the Bank received over 5,000 customer votes and the average grant amount was over $600. A total of over $120,000 went to over 180 York County nonprofits and charitable organizations through the Ballot program.
The Ballot is just one part of Kennebunk Savings Bank’s Community Investment Program which also features volunteer awards and community grants. Begun in 1994, Kennebunk Savings Bank returns 10% of its annual earnings to nonprofit and charitable groups throughout York County and has resulted in over $6 million in funding for nonprofit organizations.
