KENNEBUNK, MAINE – Kennebunk Savings President and CEO Kendall E. Reed announced that Dennis D. Byrd has joined Kennebunk Savings Bank as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In this position Byrd will be responsible for banking, insurance and investment information technology strategy and deployment as well as corporate facilities administration and purchasing, deposit services and training.
Byrd, with over 20 years experience in Maine banking, joined the bank from Eagle Bank in Everett, Massachusetts, where he was Senior Vice President of Risk Management. Prior to joining Eagle Bank, Byrd was a founding officer and Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the de novo Rivergreen Bank of Kennebunk. He also has held key management roles with both Coastal Savings Bank and later Norway Savings Bank.
With the addition of Byrd as its Chief Information Officer, Kennebunk Savings will be working to improve its technical capabilities within an increasingly sophisticated infrastructure, as well as enhancing banking services to area businesses. “We are confident that Dennis’ contributions to the Kennebunk Savings team will help us streamline a variety of functions to improve our customers’ experience. We also look forward to providing additional innovations and improvements to our efficiency and capacity,” said President Reed.
Byrd is a graduate of Andover College in Portland where he earned a degree in Accounting. He has been involved with the United Way of York County and is a Gorham, Maine resident.
