KENNEBUNK, Maine – Kennebunk Savings Bank opened its first banking office north of Kennebunk at a ribbon cutting event on March 27th, 2007. Local officials, business representatives and special guests gathered to officiate at the opening of the new 5 Points Shopping Center Biddeford location on Route 111 which includes retail space with a teller line, a drive-thru window and a freestanding drive-up ATM.
The ribbon cutting ceremony highlighted Kennebunk Savings Bank’s commitment to the community with contributions of $500 to five local nonprofit organizations. The Biddeford Free Clinic, City Theater of Biddeford, The Community Bicycle Center, The Heart of Biddeford, and the Northern County YMCA each received a gift of $500. Biddeford High School also received its first annual contribution of $1,000 for a scholarship to a deserving graduating senior. Since 1995 Kennebunk Savings Bank and the Kennebunk Savings Bank Foundation have contributed over $5 million to nonprofit and charitable organizations in York County through its “Community Investment Program.”
The public is invited to come in to the new Biddeford office to survey the exciting prizes the bank is giving away on May 5, 2007 – prizes include five 42” Panasonic plasma HDTVs, one of 25 iPods, and the biggest giveaway ever for Kennebunk Savings Bank: a 2007 Toyota Yaris from Prime Toyota in Saco.
This renovation and rebuilding project has been under construction since January 2007. Lassel Architects of South Berwick redesigned the building, and H.L. Patten Construction of Kittery was the general contractor for the project.
The office will be open with special extended hours, 8:30am to 6pm Monday through Friday, as well as 8:30 to 12pm on Saturdays throughout its grand opening celebration which runs from March 27 through May 4, 2007.
