Based on extensive research of what really “bugs” customers, Kennebunk Savings Bank is this weekend introducing a new the No-Fee Buzz Checking Account. Listening to customers helped narrow down the issues for the bank in designing the new account. “What we learned was that bank and credit union customers were really irritated with what they saw as “hidden fees.. They were especially fed up with ATM fees not from just their bank, but the surcharges they incurred from the ATM where they were withdrawing the cash. We are getting rid of this irritant, automatically rebating any ATM charges incurred and at the same time making our phenomenally successful Buzz Account, introduced last year, into a free account. That means there is no minimum balance requirement, and no regular service charge. We are also offering free checks and free bill pay.
