Kennebunk Savings announced today that as a preferred Small Business
Administration (SBA) lender, they are prepared to help all small
businesses in York County affected by the recent flooding.
“As a result of the governor’s declaration of certain areas of York
County as official ‘emergency disaster area,’ the U.S. Small
Business Administration is making low cost loans available to
businesses affected,” states Eric Andrews, Senior Vice President and
Senior Lender at Kennebunk Savings Bank. “We know that for many of
our tourism-oriented businesses in particular, they had just gotten
their summer stock in and now are facing the official beginning of
the season with a need to immediately replenish stock which may have
been ruined. We want to make certain they know that we can put loans
of this type on a fast track.”
“At the same time, those with property damage need to get repairs or
renovations underway as quickly as possible. And Kennebunk Savings,
working in concert with the SBA, can also help in this arena. This
is a great time for a public/private partnership to help those
affected and we are hoping that anyone who needs help will call on
us.”
Kennebunk Savings Bank is the largest business lender in York County
and the largest SBA 504 lender in Maine, by numbers of loans made
and by volume in 2005. With 12 offices in York County from Kennebunk
to Kittery, there are offices located in many towns affected by the
flooding.
Kennebunk Savings Bank, a past winner of the Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility Eagle Feather Award, is York County’s leading financial institution. A true community bank serving the Southern Maine community for more than 135 years, it distributes 10% of its earnings each year to non-profit and charitable organizations through Kennebunk Savings and the Kennebunk Savings Bank Foundation. With twelve banking offices from Kennebunk to Kittery, Kennebunk Savings has retail and business banking products and services and also offers personal and commercial insurance through its subsidiary, Morris Insurance Services, Inc. In addition, Kennebunk Savings has a strong commitment to York County’s business community and has earned the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME)
