Kennebunk Savings draws grand prize winners
 When
Victoria Mills of Kennebunk answered the phone call from Kennebunk
Savings a few weeks ago, she passed the caller to her husband, Tom,
with hopes that they had won one of the prizes from the grand opening
of the Kennebunk Savings Bank Financial Center. When Tom hung up the
phone, he tried to lie by saying they had won a radio, but Victoria
could see through his act. Within minutes, they were both rejoicing at
having won the grand prize seven-day Royal Caribbean Cruise. They plan
to take their trip in January.
“We are just so excited,” exclaims Victoria. “Ever since that phone
call I still haven’t been the same!” And the Mills do have something
to be excited about – this is the first vacation the couple of 44
years has ever taken. “We raised five children, so we really didn’t
have an opportunity to take a vacation,” notes Victoria. “Even our
honeymoon to the Poconos was rather short because Tom was in the Air
Force and only had a few days off.”
The Mills will be taking their seven-day cruise to the Western
Caribbean with ports in Cozumel and Grand Cayman Island starting on
January 30. Victoria has been getting ready for the trip ever since
she learned they won, reading about the islands, sending her gowns to
the tailor and simply preparing for some real relaxation. “I don’t
know how to act for a whole week without having to cook or clean. I am
just so excited to go! And we are so thankful to Kennebunk Savings
Bank for this incredible opportunity!”
The Mills moved to Kennebunk from Pennsylvania five years ago. Since
then, they have become active members of the community, volunteering
for St. Martha’s Church, joining the Newcomers Club and the Knights of
Columbus.
The drawing, with over 3,500 entries, was held to celebrate the
opening of the Kennebunk Savings Bank Financial Center. This new
center, located at 50 Portland Road in Kennebunk, is the first of its
kind in Maine to offer full service banking, insurance, financial
planning and investments all under one roof.
The grand opening celebrations will continue at the Kennebunk Savings
Bank Financial Center with free gifts for customers visiting the
center throughout the end of the year.
The Financial Center is open weekdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday
through Wednesday and until 5:00pm on Thursday and Friday. It is also
be open on Saturdays from 8:00am-12noon.
