BERWICK, Maine - Kennebunk Savings Bank is celebrating its successful
first year as the only bank in Berwick this month by thanking
residents for all their support.
After being invited to build a banking office in town last year,
Kennebunk Savings Bank has held true to its title of "Community
Bank" offering town residents full service retail and commercial
banking and an in-bank insurance agency as well. Berwick officials
view the new bank as a step forward in developing a true multi-service
town center.
 In
addition to financial services, Kennebunk Savings Bank has also been
heavily involved in encouraging the economic development in the
Berwick community. In the past year, it has funded the return and
distribution of the Berwick monthly newsletter, offered a $10,000
challenge grant to the Berwick Library for its building fund and also
contributed generously to the food pantries and other non-profit
organizations in town. "We don’t want to be just a place to
cash checks," notes Kennebunk Savings Bank Berwick banking office
manager, Karyn Scharf. "We want to play a large part in the
economic and community vitality of this town. Berwick has welcomed us
with open arms and we are committed to continue to earn the trust and
respect of all members of this community."
Kennebunk Savings Bank is planning a special anniversary celebration
for customers and residents in mid November. In a full week of
festivities, it will include free gifts, special refreshments,
children’s contests and a new grand prize drawing.
