KENNEBUNK, Maine - Kennebunk Savings Bank has joined Rotary
International in its efforts to end polio worldwide with a $4500
commitment to the Rotary’s polio eradication campaign.
Since 1979, the Rotary International campaign against polio has
already helped to immunize over 2 billion children, reduce the number
of polio-endemic countries from 125 to 10, and reduce the number of
polio cases by 99%. With the end in sight, Rotary International is
pushing to do the final fundraising with its campaign,
"Fulfilling Our Promise: Eradicate Polio."
 $500 has
been contributed to every rotary club where Kennebunk Savings Bank or
Morris Insurance Services, a subsidiary of Kennebunk Savings Bank,
have members. Those clubs include Kennebunk, South Berwick, Ogunquit,
York, Somersworth, Wells, Kittery, Kennebunk Portside, and Saco Bay.
Each of these organizations will receive $500 earmarked for the polio
eradication campaign. "We’re dedicated to our business
communities and we make it a point to participate in service clubs
like the Rotary," notes Kennebunk Savings Bank president, Joel
Stevens. "Because of all they do for our community, we are proud
to join them in one of their greatest campaigns, eradicating polio
worldwide. We hope others will join us to put an end to this
debilitating disease once and for all."
