KENNEBUNK, Maine - Seven York County scholars will soon start their
freshman year at college with help from the Kennebunk Savings Bank
Foundation.
The seven students who were granted scholarships of $1000 each were:
Kathleen O’Connor, of Traip Academy in Kittery; Tanya Thompson, of
Noble High School in Berwick; David Hampton from Wells High School;
Kevin Martel from Marshwood High School in South Berwick; Matthew
Faulkner from Sanford High School; Timothy Barker from Kennebunk High
School; and David Philbrick from York High School.
"We believe the future success of our communities lies in the
skills and education of our young people," notes Kennebunk
Savings Bank president Joel Stevens. "One of the best ways the
Kennebunk Savings Bank Foundation can give back to the communities it
serves is to help develop the futures of those communities."
The students attend the public high schools in Kennebunk Savings Bank’s
service area in southern York County. Each year, these public high
schools choose a recipient for the $1,000 Kennebunk Savings Bank
Foundation scholarship.
Kennebunk Savings Bank, a 2001 winner of the Maine Business for Social
Responsibility Eagle Feather Award, is York County’s leading
